\nIndiGo said it had operated flights between India and China before the pandemic and retains much of the infrastructure and partnerships required to resume services smoothly.<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n
Amid renewed diplomatic engagement between India and China, no-frills carrier IndiGo on Saturday announced it will restart direct flights between Delhi and Guangzhou beginning November 10. The airline had earlier revealed plans to launch daily flights between Kolkata and Guangzhou starting October 26, 2025.<\/p>\n
The airline also announced Delhi-Hanoi (Vietnam) flights from December 20, 2025.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are pleased to share with you that IndiGo has announced two more international routes from Delhi, connecting the Indian Capital to Guangzhou (China) and Hanoi (Vietnam) effective November 10, 2025, and December 20, 2025, respectively,” the airline said in a statement. \u201cPreviously operated from Kolkata, these routes now see Delhi joining as the second gateway, expanding access to two of Asia\u2019s most dynamic destinations.”<\/p>\n
IndiGo said it had operated flights between India and China before the pandemic and retains much of the infrastructure and partnerships required to resume services smoothly. \u201cThe past experience and familiarity with local partners will enable IndiGo to resume these flights swiftly,” the airline added.<\/p>\n
There have been no direct flights between India and China since 2020, despite China remaining India\u2019s largest trading partner.<\/p>\n
The development comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi\u2019s visit to China last month, his first in seven years, to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit. During the meeting, Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping agreed that India and China were \u201cdevelopment partners, not rivals”, and discussed steps to deepen trade relations amid global tariff uncertainties.<\/p>\n
Modi reiterated India\u2019s commitment to improving bilateral ties while raising concerns over the widening trade deficit, which has reached about $99.2 billion. He also underlined the need to maintain peace and stability along the disputed border, where a 2020 clash led to a prolonged military standoff.<\/p>\n
