Stock Market Holidays 2025<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n

Upcoming Stock Market Holiday 2025: <\/strong>With the major Hindu festivals are just a week away, traders and investors are keenly interested to get know of upcoming market holidays, the NSE and BSE closure schedule. It helps them to be prepared for these market closures, while enjoying the festivals with their families and closed ones. Due to several back-to-back public holidays, market will remain closed for several back-to-back days, leading to inability of traders and investors to trade in any equity or derivatives.<\/p>\n

Diwali festival will be kicked off on October 18 (Saturday) with Dhanteras, the arrival of Lakshmi, the goddesses of wealth. As Dhanteras is falling on October 18, which is Saturday, market will remain closed on that day. Exchanges remain closed on Saturday and Sunday for weekly holidays. So the market won\u2019t open on October 18 (Saturday) and October 19 (Sunday).<\/p>\n

The market will resume as usual on Monday, October 20, 2025.<\/p>\n

Indian equity exchanges will remain closed on October 21, 2025 on account of major Hindu festival Diwali Laxmi Pujan. It means traders and investors won\u2019t be able to trade equities, derivatives and other futures and options. However, Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) will organize a special one-hour trading session for traders and investors on October 21, like every year known as \u2018Muhurat Trading\u2019.<\/p>\n

Apart from October 21, 2025 (Tuesday) for Diwali Laxmi Pujan, stock exchanges will be closed the very next day on October 22, 2025 (Wednesday) for Balipratipada, as per exchanges\u2019 holidays list.<\/p>\n

Muhurat Trading Session 2025 Date And Time<\/h3>\n

The symbolic trading session will be held between 1:45 pm and 2:45 pm, the stock exchanges said in separate circulars. Last year, the special Muhurat trading session was held from 6 pm to 7 pm.<\/p>\n

The new session also ushers in Vikram Samvat 2082, the Hindu New Year that begins on Diwali. Traditionally, trading during the \u2018Muhurat\u2019 session \u2014 the auspicious hour \u2014 is believed to bring prosperity and financial growth to investors.<\/p>\n

While the markets will remain closed for regular trading on Diwali, a special one-hour trading window will be open. According to the exchange, the pre-opening session is scheduled from 1:30 pm to 1:45 pm.<\/p>\n

Upcoming Share Market Holidays 2025<\/h3>\n

Then, the next stock market holiday will arrive on November 05 on the occasion of Prakash Gurpurb Sri Guru Nanak Dev. While the last stock market holiday of 2025 will be seen on December 25, 2025 for Christmas.<\/p>\n

Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) Holidays<\/h3>\n

Multi Commodity Exchange has also announced holidays October 21 and October 22 for Diwali Laxmi Pujan and Balipratipada. While MCX will be closed completely throughout the day on October 21, the commodity exchange will open for the evening session on October 22.<\/p>\n

It will also conduct Muhurat trading on October 21, 2025, whose timing will be intimated.<\/p>\n
